Check that the System Page Cache Plugin is not enabled.

Yes, System page cache plugin is enabled with exception for relevant pages (phpBB-forum menu object and such).

If I would disable it I guess that no page would be cached so I guess that is not a solution.

Is there no automatic purging of expired cache in native Joomla?
